This one was really personal for me.

The pharmacy industry went mad when everyone heard about amazon buying Pillpack for $1Bn. Within months so many colleagues were all about forming their Nigerian Pillpack. At the time it didn’t mean much to me. We already offered patients individual dispensing options but used pillboxes.

But I guess, things don’t seem important until they hit close to home.

My grandma is 89 and on a routine check with the cardiologist, all her meds were changed. She now had 8 pills to swallow daily and the cardiologist was insisting that we couldn’t swap to any combined dose ones, to help her pill count.

Again this wasn’t really a big deal, cause my grandma is highly literate and is so in control of her meds.

Our assumption as a family was to just give her her new meds and she’ll continue popping her pills as instructed.

Then one visit, I noticed she had more of some and less of others. It then occurred to me that she can’t do this on her own and maybe Pillpack was really on to something after all.

Imagine how tough and strong our parents and grandparents are? So we just send them these meds in their packs and we may not know exactly how and if they are using them correctly. Haba! That’s bad.

So if you have someone you are neglecting or showing half love like I was, this is for you

It comes labelled with a date and time. This I find super useful. Cause you don’t have to assume you have taken your pills for the day. You just have to check if that date is still in your stash.

I was sharing this with my friend who is doubling as my unpaid product manager( I love you) and I told her about my dilemma of how to package for our customers who want discrete shopping. She came up with the lovely idea of motivational and funny quotes daily. I thought that was brilliant cause even I know I need a push to take my meds daily.

Maybe down the line, we add some treats .. something to get you to actually open the bag and hopefully you toss the pills in your mouth and not the bin!!!😉
